A few weeks ago, my husband and I started to plan a date WEEKEND!! This was our first kid-free, just-the-two-of-us weekend since pre-COVID, so we were clearly excited. After exploring multiple travel partnerships for the weekend, we settled on an AirBnB outside New Hope! Obviously, the Logan Inn was on my radar, but they were booked to capacity and not an option for this particular weekend.
“Fast Forward” to halfway through our weekend… Our AirBnB wasn’t working out, and we needed another place to stay on short notice. We had eaten at the Logan Inn’s restaurant “Ferry & Main” the night before (find that blog post here), so they were at the top of our list to call for accommodations for that evening. By some stroke of luck (and an AMAZING staff), we were able to score a room that had just become available due to a cancellation!!

Janet at the front desk (who deserves a raise, in my opinion) informed us that just prior to me calling, a party had checked in but had to immediately leave after receiving a call from home. She quickly ran to check on the condition of the room herself, and gave me a call back to confirm its availability. In the time that we packed up our bag at the AirBnB and drove back to the hotel, housekeeping had given our room a quick once-over to be sure it was ready for us.
The valet met us at the door, and Janet met me at the front desk with a free glass of wine. (I felt pretty sure this was standard practice, but it felt extra personal and was a really nice touch). She was pleasant and professional, and quickly checked once more on our room herself while I sipped on my wine.
The bellboy (Will) was on standby, and as soon as Janet gave us our room number and key code, Will helped us bring our luggage up to the third floor.

The elevator was spacious, and Will was an easy conversationalist on the ride up to the third floor. He told us that he’s “not supposed to talk about the ghost in room number [you’ll have to investigate for yourself],” and I wondered if the staff might actually be encouraged to talk about the ghost that they’re “not supposed to talk about.” New Hope is a town with a rich history, and ghost stories are part of it’s charm!
The elevator opened to a bright, open space in the middle of the third floor.

To one side were the new rooms (each starting with a “3” for the third floor), and to the other side was the historic section.

The room numbers were clearly marked, designated by ornamental hands outside of each room. I liked that we could see the room numbers while approaching each room, as opposed to the room number being flush on the wall or door.

Will showed us the keypad entry, which was a breeze to use and very convenient. After the locks not working correctly at the AirBnB we had left hours before, the keypad approach felt comforting and secure. Will helped us get settled in our room, answered questions about the inn, TV, and the ice situation (best ordered by calling down to the front desk), and left us to our room.
The door of room 12 opened to a small hotel but cozy hotel room. The king-sized bed was beautifully dressed, comfortable, and framed by a tall, padded headboard. The hardwood floors were contrasted beautifully by lightly painted wooden slatted shutters and white furniture. An open closet provided plenty of storage for our short stay.

There were fun punches of color in the room, including a small quilt on the end of the bed and a chair with a quilted pattern. One of the end tables held a tray with glasses and a bucket for ice. The other end table held a clock… that didn’t work! (We let the staff know upon checkout). We also joked that if the clock in the room doesn’t work, then it’s never really checkout time!

“Logan Inn” mugs and saucers sat with coffee/espresso pods, the usual accompanying sugar/creamer, and a Lavazza machine on a ledge centered between the windows, under a large mirror that added to the visual size of the space.

It was, coincidentally, a lovely place to set my (free) glass of wine. (Thanks again, Janet!!)

To the right of the mugs on that little ledge were a selection of snack boxes, as well as a “Love Box” (lubricants, condoms, massage lotion, and more – because “Safe is Sexy”), and a “Tavel Box” (Tylenol, toothbrush, toothpaste, and more). My husband said “It’s almost as if they know what people do in here!” – which cracked me up. Really, I think it’s genius, and I wish all hotels had these on hand.

Enter – The Bathroom.

I LOVED the design choices of this bathroom remodel. The tile was lovely and felt appropriate to the historic inn, and the hardware. was. gorgeous.
The water pressure was solid, and the rainfall shower head was large! My first shower was in the evening, and the water temperature was HOT. Like melt-the-skin-off-your-bones hot. (Obviously, this is a matter of preference. My husband prefers a “normal” level of temperature, and of course that was possible too). In the morning, however, the hotel’s water heater was clearly more in-demand, because I couldn’t achieve the same skin-melting level of heat I so enjoyed the previous night. (Most people would probably still find the morning temperature satisfying, but I prefer scalding levels of heat). The robe was comfortable, and the towels were clean and plush.
After dinner (we ate at The Oldestone next door – highly recommend!), we returned to our room and watched a movie on Netflix using the smart TV. The size of the TV is appropriate for the size of the room, and easy enough to use. There were some loud ladies in the hallway at night (perhaps having an argument?) but you’ll have drama in hotels. Unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee the absence of that, and it was over quickly enough that intervention wasn’t required.
In the morning, we enjoyed espresso in bed from the Lavazza machine (as well as coffee cake from the Lumberville General Store, which we had picked up the morning before). I showered and headed down to the included continental breakfast, which was served in the bright bar area of the restaurant.

Given that I arrived downstairs only 30 minutes prior to the end of the continental breakfast (served 7:30-10:00am), I was impressed with how well-stocked the spread was. Staff were attentively restocking items, and there was a nice variety of options. Bagels, pastries, fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled-eggs, donuts, and cereal made up the food options. On the other counter were tea, coffee, juice, and bottles of water to go.

Prior to checking out of the hotel, we brought our belongings outside, and the valet let unlocked our car for us so we could stash our bags during brunch.
A word about the valet service… Parking in New Hope STINKS lately. It costs twice as much as it did a couple of years ago. (Think $50 to park for a few hours at the New Hope Railroad!!) Given this frame of reference, inexpensive valet service included with our hotel stay was a HUGE bonus. That said, the exact cost of the valet service was fairly confusing. When I spoke with Janet on the phone prior to booking out stay, she let me know the valet service was $10, and would be added to our room charge upon checkout. Perfect, no problem. When we arrived to the parking lot, however, the valet said the service was “complimentary.” Sweet!! Even better!!! Ultimately, when we received our receipt via email after our stay, the overnight parking fee was listed as “$15.” I also tipped the valet, obviously. (That nice kid even opened – and closed – the door to the car for me). $15 is still pretty great for New Hope, so I’m not complaining by any means, but the inconsistency is confusing and should probably be addressed with the staff.
I really don’t have many complaints about the Logan Inn. I know some reviewers on Google have mentioned feeling that some aspects the renovation are “subpar” (e.g., gaps where the wall meets the ceiling). As someone who has gone through the work of renovating an older home myself, I would agree that if you really look for them, there are certain details that could be addressed.

These issues are small details which certainly don’t jump out at you, unless you’re looking for them. After all, did I mention how gorgeous the hardware is?

I mean, COME ON.
That said, if the staff at the Logan Inn would like to provide me with some grout, paint, and tools, I (as a layperson and absolutely NOT a contractor) am happy to stay for free while I take care of every single corner these haters will find to complain about. Hit me up, Janet.
I am team Logan Inn! Not only did they offer us a room when we needed one, but we had a phenomenal stay, and will absolutely return. My review? 5 Stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ . We would highly recommend the Logan Inn to couples looking for a weekend getaway in the amazing town of New Hope!
Our stay at the Logan Inn was part of our kid-free weekend, so we have no idea what it would be like to stay there with our kids. That said, our family of four would love to try it out! Stay tuned!
